Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme:

It aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in top 500 companies in five years. Through this Scheme, youth will gain exposure for 12 months to real-life business environment, across varied professions and employment opportunities.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS): (For Non-Literate to 12th drop outs)

The mandate of the scheme is to provide vocational skills in non-formal mode to non-literate, neo-literates, persons with rudimentary level of education upto 8th and school drop-outs upto 12th standard in the age group of 15-45 years. The priority groups are women, SC, ST, minorities and other backward sections of the society. ​

Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS): ( For 8th/10th/Graduates)

​The Scheme being the most important in the field of Vocational Training, has been shaping craftsmen to meet the existing as well as future manpower need, through the vast network of ITIs spread over various States / Union Territories in the country.

Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS): (For NTC/NAC/Degree/Diploma holders)

​Comprehensive training both in skills and training methodology is imparted to the instructor trainees to make them conversant with techniques of transferring hands-on skills, to train skilled manpower for the industry.

Advanced Vocational Training Scheme (AVTS):

​Provides training in selected skill areas through short-term modular courses that are operational for a duration of one to six weeks. It also aims to offer tailor-made courses that are suited to the specific requirements of industrial establishments.

Vocational Training Programme for Women:

​This Programme encourages all women to learn job skills for work in different industries. It helps them become instructors, start their own businesses, identify specific trades that suit women and plan how to accordingly implement this training.

Initiatives in the North East and LWE Regions:

​The schemes under this initiative envisage the creation of Skill Development infrastructure closer to the people of left wing extremism (LWE) affected districts and enhancement of Skill Development infrastructure in North Eastern states.
